I’m Luke Lucas. I live in Belfast, where I design the future.
My journey in technology began early. At 9, I wrote my first program on a primary school computer. I was a week late to the first programming club class and was left to my own devices to figure out how to make a computer do something.
I failed utterly. The frustration was overwhelming, but instead of giving up, I channeled that energy. I spent the next week obsessively teaching myself how to create a game in Scratch. When I returned to the club, I had blazed through months of content in just a week. I was hooked, completely and irrevocably in love with programming.
By 12, my entrepreneurial spirit emerged. My friend Conor and I built a social network that attracted hundreds of students across Northern Ireland. It was a hit, a rush like nothing else. But reality hit hard when we had to shut it down after a few months because we couldn't afford the server costs. It was a tough lesson, but it only fueled my drive to keep building.
My unconventional path continued when, at 15, I ghostwrote a Bachelor's dissertation in Psychology. This led me to pursue Computer Science at The Open University. However, recognizing that traditional education wasn't the only route to success in tech, I left university at 17 to become a Software Engineer at Synechron Inc.
I've been building things ever since, and I've loved every minute of it. Mobile apps, web apps, games, operating systems - you name it, I've worked on it. Each project is a new adventure, a new puzzle to solve, and I dive into every one with the same excitement I felt as a kid figuring out Scratch.
Today, I'm the founder of Tekodot, a company that's revolutionizing technical recruitment by streamlining every stage of the hiring process, empowering companies to identify, engage, and secure top talent up to 4x faster.
I also work on charitable endeavors in my spare time, such as funding medical missions in rural Philippines and supporting local charities in Belfast like Farset Labs. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed, and I'm committed to doing my part to make that a reality.
I'm always eager to connect with fellow innovators and discuss new ideas. If you're interested in tech, recruitment, or making a positive impact, feel free to reach out. Let's explore how we can shape the future together.
